ASKO D1776 Dishwasher catches fire

ASKO D1776 fire damage

ASKO D1776 caught fire 04/11/2012

My dishwasher burned up last night and I had to put it out with a fire extinguisher. See picture for damage.

The serial number and type are not readable any more.

The machine was sparking and making strange noises and then finally started burning. I turned off the circuit breaker (which hadn’t tripped) and then proceeded to put out the fire using a kitchen fire extinguisher. Our home filled with smoke completely. Thank God we were awake and were able to handle this right away!

We did review the picture and I do sincerely regret the inconvenience this has caused you and your family. What we can offer is a discount on a new ASKO dishwasher. We would like to get some additional information regarding your specific installation. If you could measure the vertical space you have from the floor to the underside of your countertop as well as the width your dishwasher cutout space is. This will be so we can advise the best model for comparison as well as to make sure it will fit your specific installation. Also if you could include the physical address where your product is located.

Sincerely,

Stephen
